Sabreen Jouda was born moments after her mother's tragic death in an Israeli airstrike on April 20 in Rafah, Gaza. The airstrike claimed the lives of Sabreen's father, 4-year-old sister, and mother, Sabreen al-Sakani, who was 30 weeks pregnant. Amidst the chaos, emergency responders conducted an emergency cesarean section at a Kuwaiti hospital, saving the newborn's life. Sabreen remained in critical condition in an Emirati hospital's neonatal intensive care unit. The conflict has resulted in devastating losses, with children and women comprising two-thirds of the 34,000 Palestinians killed, according to Gaza's Health Ministry.
