A Stockton woman has a hobby of collecting driftwood for her friends for use in succulent displays. But when she found something totally unexpected in the driftwood pile at Incline Beach in Incline Village it sent her on a three-year search for answers. “We were with our neighbors from Tracy from a long time ago,” Jeanie Serpa said. “They have five kids and these kids were just great. They're helping me. I say, ‘I needed driftwood’ and they really went for it.” She didn’t go through the driftwood until a year later in her garage. That’s when she picked up a piece and “just went, whoa, you know that’s a femur.” Serpa took a photo to document the leg bone and then called the police. When she couldn’t get answers about what happened to the found femur, she called KCRA 3 Investigates. KCRA 3 Investigates details what happened next Thursday night at 11 p.m. on KCRA or online here.
