The sap was being collected, the fire was set, then the boiling can begin. When the wind isn't blowing too hard and the sap is really cooking, it smells like a candy factory in the sugar shack.
Luckily dad has figured out all the details and nuances for this part of the process as there is a lot to juggle and keep track of.
