Sprite Stacking Game Test
Engine testing:
Base engine, I started with Tutorial by https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwe6kcllhainHICL1vnq41ghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcRWqchSZOE
Steps:
Wanted to learn Python graphics, so followed excellent step-by-step tutorial by "Coder Space. Am hands-on learner, so followed the coding vs copying the source code.
Additions made so far:
CACHING ! - First thing added, as @CoderSpaceChannel had suggested.
Added sound - "sound_trigger" = works similar to "anim_trigger" for triggering entities/stacked-sprites to play their sounds
Added collision to entities, entity & "collision object" (weapon/etc) animations, animations to entities on collision
Added "Actions"(/game Events) - triggers for sound/dialogue /etc when user pressed "E"
Started some basic "AI" for speech/story - using "GPT3" API to pass settings parameters (dialogue/such) to GPT3 AI API for responses.
Next Steps:
Integrating my 3D workflow for converting to Entities (2d/ish) & Stacked Sprites (3d/ish). Support for "Tiled" for map editing.
UI Elements, other adv game mechanics(path following, extending damage / armour settings), etc.
Looking for other 2D/3D artists who might be interested in collaborating on a minimally scoped initial game.
