Far enough away from the flames... but not far enough from firefighters spraying water into the barn which drenched not only myself, but my CAMERA!!!! NOOOO!!!!! 100% my fault but still a good lesson for safety during an active incident.
Thankfully, the casualty was my Canon G7X Mark II camera and nothing else (I feel terrible for the property owner) but a good reminder to always pay attention regardless if your in a field or any profession and think you are in a safe spot as anything can happen. In this case, I was updating Facebook with a couple photographs when I was sprayed so I didn't see the water coming. At first the camera worked, but sound was shot. Now nothing works.
And finally, I would like to point out another person from another media company also got wet. So with that, anyone out there have advice for water damage? Perhaps snide remarks are warranted?
The real question is what should be my next camera?
