The FTC lawsuit against Microsoft was just the beginning in the ongoing Activision Blizzard case. It would seem, according to Bloomberg, that the Activision Blizzard purchase by Microsoft is going to get a statement of objections today from the EU, but the FTC wanted to get ahead of this by filing their lawsuit back in December to stop any concessions from happening. This is very interesting as the argument was initially that Microsoft would be creating a monopoly in the industry if Call of Duty exclusivity were to go to Xbox. Now the Xbox news today is that the statement of objections would come from the EU and that they would be open to discussions. It's going to be very interesting to hear what Lina Khan and the FTC do with the Activision Blizzard Microsoft deal going forward.
