An unusual big plastic gold egg from the 1980s
I haven't been able to find out any additional details regarding this in magazines or adverts other than there was also a white model (which I've seen sold on eBay).
The model is Talking Egg (TE 100) and it was made in Japan. The instruction booklet and warranty show the address as Seiko Instruments U.S.A. Inc. Consumer Products Division, 2990 W. Lomita Blvd, Torrance, CA 90505

It's likely that the word Sekisui printed on the base refers to Sekisui Plastics of Japan who could have manufactured the outer casing.
