Our new sections PATAGONIA & the ANTARCTIC can be visited and admired by our guests since 03.05.2023. For the opening ceremony we invited polar explorer Arved Fuchs and Hamburg's second mayor Katharina Fegebank. The gates of the two most natural sections of Miniatur Wunderland were opened with a ship's foghorn and a violent storm complete with thunderclouds, thunder and lightning over the Drake Passage, an ocean strait at Cape Horn. Where Antarctica still makes you shiver, in Patagonia, despite the picturesque expanse of the prairie, a feeling of home comes over you when you look at the lovingly designed scenes of the inhabitants. Immerse yourself in a world of wild and rough seas, the smallest narrow-gauge railroad on our layout, romantic sunsets, wild and dangerous animals, playful details, rugged rocks and icy seas. We will show you the beautiful natural spectacles like the Drake Passage, the Perito Moreno Glacier, the Fitz Roy and the Tores del Paine, lovingly designed gauchos, the homemade trains of La Trochita and Tren Patagónico. More than 20 million visitors from all over the world have already viewed a superlative miniature world in Hamburg's Speicherstadt warehouse district. A unique miniature masterpiece has been created on an area of 1,545 m² in over 1,000,000 working hours - and it is still growing.
