オリジナルのスピンドルガウジを作りました。10ミリのハイス鋼丸棒を加工してます。 ガウジを自作するメリットとしては ①安く済む（材料費として2000円ほど） ②好きな大きさで作れる（個人的にはこのサイズが使用頻度が高く使いやすいです） デメリットとしては ①手間がかかる（これをデメリットとするかは人によりますので楽しみと捉えればメリットになります） ②それなりの工具が必要（ディスクグラインダー、電動ドリル、回転砥石など、これらを新たに揃えるとなると既製品を買ったほうが安い）となるのではないでしょうか。私自身は作ることは楽しみなのでデメリットにはなりません。金属加工の造詣も深まります。また、新たに買い揃えた工具はないのでコストアップもしてません。自分で作った工具は愛着が湧くものです。みなさんもチャレンジしてみてはいかがでしようか。 I made an original spindle gouge by machining a 10 mm HSS round bar.
