The BBC's specialist disinformation reporter Marianna Spring looks at some of the conspiracy theories about coronavirus and the Covid-19 pandemic. She offers advice on what to say to people who may believe things that are not true. incorrect information about the pandemic is causing real-world problems in some cases, for example, it's discourage some people from getting a vaccine. Hoaxes, disinformation and false facts also mean some other people are refusing to wear masks or follow social distancing guidelines. At the start of the pandemic some bizarre theories about Covid prompted some people in Europe and the UK to attack 5G mobile phone towers or even ingest unknown substances touted as cures.
