Some Linux systems such as LibreELEC or Raspbian only provide a .IMG file, which is not directly usable by VirtualBox. In this tutorial video I’ll show you convert the LibreELEC .img installer to a .vdi Virtual Drive, so it will boot in VirtualBox.
However, I was not entirely successful, as I was unable to get the Guest Addition drivers to install.
Terminal commands:
$ vboxmanage convertfromraw input.img output.vdi
