A song of recognition and devotion, "The Spark" commemorates Michigan Medicine staff who have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic. A collaboration between Michigan Medicine nursing leaders, frontline workers and students from the U-M School of Music, Theatre and Dance, The Spark tells the story of endurance and making a difference. Thank you to the dozens of frontline workers who took part in the focus groups, which served as inspiration for the song’s lyrics and musical accompaniment. Written and performed by Andrew Cekala, Helen Shen, and Chris Tamayo. Mixing and mastering by August Eriksmoen.
