Neil Bruckhuisen and Timo Brandenburger from the Löhr front door manufactory are specialists in the construction of front doors made of solid wood. In the Höchstenbach joinery, front doors are still manufactured in-house from the individual boards to the finished door. The basic material is mostly Westerwald oak. However, some front doors are given a surface made of very special material: they are made of oak wood, some of which is hundreds of years old. The wood comes, for example, from old half-timbered houses or log cabins. Modern front doors are created from the ancient beams in weeks of work. Computer-controlled milling machines are used as well as planes, hammers and chisels.
