StarEngine’s capability as the ultimate game engine has been unveiled to the world in its most polished form yet by Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium Games. The technology behind this seamless odyssey through time and space, one taking in multiple natural biomes, bustling city interiors, interstellar space, wormholes, space stations, is undeniably impressive and represents a ton of hard graft from the team at CIG. If this is a glimpse into the future, then the future looks very compelling indeed. However, with this being a technical demonstration only and not representative of gameplay the usual caveat remains – until we see this in situ how can we be sure all these features will work smoothly in game? Just how far in the future are we looking before we get to play Star Citizen, complete with every feature posited in the tech demo?
