And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
And God saw that the light was good, and He divided the light from the darkness.
~ Genesis 1:3-4
According to a famous book, the universe came into existence with a simple thought. “Let there be light!” Mainstream science however believes that the beginning of the universe was much more complex and gradual than the universe just popping into existence as we know it today. Regardless, it is still true how much of an important role light plays in our understanding of the universe.
But what if this light from millions of stars and quasars could never reach us? What if there was a time when the universe was so dense that light could be trapped within its sources? What if the light could not be separated from darkness? Believe it or not, but there was a time when the light was a prisoner of its own devices and the universe was dark despite all the bright objects in it. Until it wasn’t.
How did the universe become transparent? We had no idea until now, but the mystery may be solved by the end of this video.
Welcome to Factnomenal, and today let’s look at the biggest mystery about the Universe that no scientist is able to solve.
