This is a combination how-to and complaint "letter" to Albertsons / Vons. In this video I should how to use the for U digital coupon to take advantage of the discount. In addition, I offer suggestions to Albertsons and Vons to improve the process to ensure everyone can take advantage of it. Inflation is causing many to mind their dollars more and more. Offering great, easy-to-use deals to customers goes a long way to towards building loyalty and developing trust.
How to Use a for U Digital Coupon:
Requirements:
* Sign-up at store to become a for U member using your phone number
* Have the Albertsons and/or Vons app installed and signed in
Process:
1. Open Albertsons - Vons app
2. Clip deal
3. Navigate to DEALS on the bottom-middle of the page.
4. Select the FOR U tab at top
5. Search for the item
6. Select CLIP DEAL
7. Confirm it says CLIPPED in green
8. Select MY LIST in bottom of page
9. Find clipped item in list and select radio button - button - you'll see a gray icon with a white checkmark.
10. During checkout, after first item is scanned, enter your for U account phone number on the PIN pad as prompted.
11. Wait to scan payment card until you have confirmed with the cashier you have received the deal.
12. If you haven’t received your discounts, ask the clerk to adjust the difference.
Enter that same phone number on the pad at checkout to receive deal
Confirm with cashier you received the discounts.
13. Prepare to wait. You may receive judging eyes from behind and frustrated energy from the cashier as she has to manually calculate the discount and make a credit to the balance.
How they can improve:
* Eliminate unnecessary steps; make it easy, customer-proof
* Provide clearer instruction on forU sign – use the same language across (e.g. “clip coupon”, not “downloaded”)
Recommended Process for Clipping Coupon:
1. Open app -- scan item’s UPN code -- auto-clip upon scan
2. Show customer confirmation item is “clipped”
3. Done. Item is added
Reasons:
Simple, easy
Scanning UPN ensures customer doesn’t select the wrong item for the deal (e.g. some display tables have multiple) .
