Be prepared for possible issues and mechanical problems with it. I owned this car from new, got it fresh from dealership in July 2016. That's when this love hate relationship has started for me. Don't get me wrong, the car is great 100% of the time every 80% when it works! Specifically 2015-16 models got hit the worst in this lineup since they were forgotten by Genesis and given up on by Hyundai. My car spends on average 2-3 straight months at dealerships every year and since I got screwed by Hyundai and Genesis split up, nobody wants to service it, since Genesis says its a Hyundai car and Hyundai dealerships say its a Genesis car. Even if you bring your it to Genesis, its still being services at Hyundai workshop, yet, somehow they treat it differently and may even charge you to perform diagnostics. RIDICULOUS is all I can say. I bet $20,000 Elantra is getting better care than $70,000 Genesis, and the worst part for owners like me - we are stuck with it as it lost its value immediately when they announced the split. My suggestion is, don't be tempted by low prices of 2015-2016 models, go for 2017 plus! Nevertheless, the issues are the same on the entire lineup of 2015-2019 models. I hope this video will help you to pick the right car and save a few bucks! Some of the issues I had since new: 2016 Genesis 3.8L Technology package: - Since new - doors are not closing well. - 1000kms - Wheel Alignment. - 3,000kms - Original wiper blades failed. - 5000kms - Replaced both mirrors motors. - 15,000kms Replaced both side pillars - 15,000kms - Genesis logo fell off from the driver side carpet. - 18,000kms - Driver seat got loose. - 20,000kms - Drive shaft, aka propeller shaft, issues started. - 22,0000kms - Sunroof rubber seal torn off. - 30,000kms - Handle illumination failed on the driver side. This year I got so fed up with it, so I ended up selling it for $22,000CAD while my outstanding financing was still at $34,000CAD. Yes, I took a loss as I could not handle it anymore. I think if the proper service was in place, I would still keep it, but, I am strong believer that great car starts from great service.
