There is a shortage of perfect desks in the world.... I needed something super strong that would be able to handle the weight of my extra monitors, while giving me space to work on all of my projects.
I decided to make my own desk! The wood slab I got at home depot for about 70 bucks, and the 1 inch metal pipe legs cost me around 130 dollars for all the parts and joints. Ill do a more in depth write up on my blog in the next few days with more explanation about the project.
The granite chunks I got for free from a local counter top installer. They just throw away all the broken chunks, and he let me have them!
All of the metal pipes are threaded on both ends. (Sometimes it costs a little extra to have the hardware store thread them for you. But it is worth it.)
The top of the desk is 29 3/4 inches from the ground.
The thickness of the top wood is 1 and 11/16 inches
Front Leg top piece - 21.5 inches (2 pieces)
Rear Leg top pieces - 15.5 inches (3 pieces)
Left and right horizontal side bars - 27.5 inches (2 pieces)
Rear horizontal bars - 34.5 inches (2 pieces.)
4 inch bars (6 pieces)
T-Joint- (7 pieces)
Circular base pieces -(9 pieces)
