The Aero Club of the Polish People's Republic was an aviation, paramilitary and sports social organization of higher utility. It was an association that was established as a result of separating the aviation division from the League of Soldiers' Friends. It began its operations on January 1, 1957 as the supreme authority of sports aviation, and its existence was preceded by numerous organizational transformations of the structures of Polish aviation in the first decade after the end of World War II.
In accordance with Order No. 27/MON of May 31, 1958 on the cooperation of the People's Army with the Aero Club of the Polish People's Republic, this organization was to conduct training, propaganda and sports activities in the field of aviation.
Following the resolutions of the plenary meetings of the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers' Party, in accordance with the decisions of the authorities and the applicable statute, the Aero Club of the Polish People's Republic conducted extensive ideological, educational and propaganda activities among members, aviation supporters and young people. In the first half of 1972, the association organized approximately 900 meetings and events attended by over 500,000 people. people. While implementing its main tasks, the Aero Club cooperated with youth organizations. Together with the Union of Socialist Youth, he organized basic aviation training camps. The result of the association's cooperation with the Polish Scouting Association was the operation of air scout teams in the early 1970s and 1990s. The Aero Club also directed its activity towards the Rural Youth Association, however, due to the location of regional Aero Clubs in provincial and larger cities, the organization's activities, unlike its influence in urban youth environments, were definitely limited in this respect.
Stefan Antosiewicz, mentioned in the film - a colonel, a long-time officer of the People's Republic of Poland's security apparatus and a Soviet agent, was a long-time president of the Aero Club of the Polish People's Republic.
