πππππ Quotes πππππ
"Your brain is most intelligent when you donβt instruct it on what to doβsomething people who take showers discover on occasion."
"Donβt talk about βprogressβ in terms of longevity, safety, or comfort before comparing zoo animals to those in the wilderness."
- Nassim Taleb
πππππ Notes πππππ
βThe overscheduled life is not worth living.β - Naval Ravikant
"People underestimate how much misery schedules bring to their life."
"There is nothing that brings me as much joy and happiness as an empty calendar"
- Empty Calendar -- Freedom to do things that are important and that you want to do, instead of going thru a day of obligations.
- Time is the most precious asset.
β’ Any rich person would trade most of his money for some extra years.
β’ Be conscious about where you allocate your time
** βYou could leave life right now. Let that determine what you do and say and think.β - Marcus Aurelius.
β’ * It can be productive or not under other people's eyes. What matters is that is worth the time to you.
β’ Freedom to spend your time how you want is really important.
- Your world-view is your world.
β’ Life is a single-player game.
πππππ Reflections πππππ
"Creativity starts with an empty calendar and ends with a full one."
- Naval Ravikant
Personally, I do try to live without strict schedules and specially if the schedule is being created by someone that is not me. Not only to have more freedom, but also because the more unscheduled you are the more creative you can be. And the more creative you are...
* the more engaged you are in what you are doing (Flow State). And this is the essence of living the present moment and making the most out of every second.
* the more unique your work will be.
* * In the case your work is a personal project that you want to commercialize, and there is product-market fit, you can potentially make a good living and have no competition (since no one can compete at being you!). No product-market fit? Keep iterating...
On the other hand, I do also find it useful to have a schedule in order to be more effective and productive. Because it takes out of the equation the thinking process of things that are often not so important (such as what to do at every single moment), and it also creates a sense of urgency. As Peter Thiel says: How can you execute your 10 year plan in 6 months?
In conclusion, I like a balance between both extremes. I like to have a "flexible schedule", which is sort of a general structure of my day routine but with flexibility to also be creative when I need to.
