Creative Engineering with Mark Rober
Project #3: Advanced Engineering & Storytelling, by Michael Healey
We finally made it! Here is my doggie meal tracker. There are set times for when breakfast and dinner begin (and when they are late). Lights indicate this, and the morning/evening wheel moves to show which meal is served next. A series of photos are taken during the meal, then they're automatically emailed to me. The LCD screen updates throughout the sitting, and then remains on the "last ate" time.
This was a great project that really tested and expanded my knowledge and skills. I'm super happy with it all, and glad I finally was able to add some "finishing touches" to this project with the engraving on the front of the device. I did have two setbacks, my LCD screen broke during construction (only half the display shows characters, but I've ordered a replacement). And I again had trouble with a PIR sensor, the LCD screen should only turn on when someone is in the room, but for now it will just always stay on.
