Research shows the importance of teaching sight words along with phonics, which we will discuss later. Students at a higher level can use pencil and paper and attempt to write the words along with the video. If they are not yet skilled enough to write the words with the video, this can be an activity they practice later as you dictate each word slowly enough for young writers to keep up, cuing and assisting them as needed.
