In this week's video, we are discussing how to do a bridge or how to do a wheel pose. While commonly used in gymnastics, we see the bridge or wheel pose in dance, acrobatics, and yoga. If you're looking to do a backbend, front walkover, back walkover, back handspring, improve your flexibility, and open your heart chakra, then this video is for you. We begin with discussing what a bridge is, and how it is used in dance, yoga, and acrobatics. Then we will do a few stretches to begin to open our shoulders, release our quads, and stretch our back. From there, we will go over the proper form for a bridge, and working on actually pushing up to one! If this is your first time doing a bridge, please go slowly and give yourself lots of patience and grace! You can do it, it just takes time and consistent practice.
