Here's the complete full video of the live session over Pride weekend where I played a selection of Queen, Freddie Mercury and Elton John piano covers. In my opinion, for many reasons, this is my "best", or at least my favourite public piano performance. The piano was set up as a tribute for Pride and Elton John - so I originally planned to play just Elton, but then I thought why not honour Freddie as well. I had not intended to play Queen, but decided to put in my favourite Queen songs in as well. So, it turned out to be a little longer session than I intended. The piano was beautifully in tune, and the key action was smooth. Of course, being a grand piano as well, it sounded fantastic, but the atrium entrance hall resonated the sound wonderfully giving it a really full sound. For those that haven't seen me live (most of you!) - this is what my live public performances are like - just me sitting down and playing non-stop, no-retakes - so any mistakes (hopefully not many!) are for all to see. I don't stop, and restart - I play them back to back - and of course nod thank you to the crowd if there is one between songs. For those that are eagled eyed - you may spot that the Candle In The Wind is not in sync with the other songs. Well, that's because I did not play it originally in my set, but after I finished the set, one of the security guards thanked me for the show, and asked if I knew Candle In The Wind. He said how much he loved my playing and that one of this favourite people was Princess Diana, and Elton's tribute to Princess Diana was one of his favourite songs, and he would love it if he could hear me play it, if I knew it. Of course, how could I refuse - so I went back to the piano and played it for him. You can see him come out from behind his table and record me playing it!
