Hey guys! Please read & watch! - I'm really, really excited to share this short film with you that is so close to my heart. Last year, I cooperated with the UN's World Food Programme and traveled to the South of Turkey, where I met a Syrian refugee family. Fatma, the mother of the family, invited me in her kitchen and while we cooked up a feast, she told me about her journey.
It's safe to say that this trip had a huge impact on me. When the UN contacted me and told me about their project, I immediately jumped on board. I've long been looking for a way to use my social media outreach in another way than just sharing photos of beautiful and nourishing meals.
I know this movie is a bit longer than my usual 2-3 minutes happy music recipe videos, but it's the one I'm most proud of and I strongly believe the most important one.
Together with my friend Greg, I directed and edited this movie, in the hope to give you an insight in the situation of those who are forced out of their countries and environments they grew up in. Everyone that I met on my journey was so incredible kind and generous and deserves to be heard and thought of.
I hope you enjoy this short film, if so, give a it a like and maybe even share it. :)
A huge thank you to the World Food Programme for trusting me and involving me in this project. It's been an unbelievable journey so far.
