Atun Shei Films directed a horror movie, called the Sudbury Devil. The genre can highlight societal fears and act as a cultural symbol of that, which this movie does well, with the added layer of some very interesting historical literacy. It uses a theme of scars from past (King Philip's War) affecting how New England conquered its frontier with witchcraft and satanism.
