On August 9, a vehicle drove into a home in the 1700 block of Mount Hamilton Drive in the City of Antioch which ignited a house fire in the garage.
The call came in at 10:55 pm and when Contra Costa County Firefighters arrived on scene and observed smoke and flames coming from the garage. By 10:55, the fire was under control and there were no extensions.
According to preliminary information, the estranged ex-husband allegedly intentionally drove the vehicle into the garage to set the house on fire. It is being treated as an attempted murder story where a man who is an estranged husband and is no longer allowed into the house threatened to kill his family, and carried out the threat by crashing a car into the house and setting the house on fire.
