What is your Shadow Self? Carl Jung said, “Everyone carries a shadow, and the less it is embodied in the individual’s conscious life, the blacker and denser it is.” Your unconscious is made up of all the parts and automatic processes of your mind of which you are not consciously aware. The vast majority of you as a mind is unconscious. Consciousness is just a tiny fraction. It is critically important to become conscious of and integrate your shadow. The first step in integrating any aspect of your unconscious, is to become aware of it. That is may seem trivial, but it’s a huge accomplishment. Remember, these are unconscious structures that you’re not consciously aware of.
