The Waorani (or Huaorani) people are one of the last hunter gather tribes in the world. First contacted by the rest of humanity only 50 years ago, there are currently less than 5,000 of them and many still live deep in the Amazon jungle of eastern Ecuador subsisting off wild monkeys and peccaries that they hunt themselves. Visiting their village, which is accessible via a dangerous 12 hour boat ride through the jungle, was perhaps the single craziest experience of my life. I brought along my YouTuber friend https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9SSUKnJIJxUjTD3eBaymLQ, his cameraman Nate, and my friend and cameraman https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCd5hPU13RT5Qa30PkBUMfwg. Thanks to Wareka (@amazonwaoraniexpeditions on IG) for inviting us into his community and organizing our trip!
