This is guide, howto install NVIDIA proprietary Linux drivers (manually using .run files) and disable Nouveau driver on Linux Mint 20.3 (Una) / 20.2 (Uma) / 20.1 (Ulyssa). Kernels 5.x are tested.
Currently working NVIDIA drivers are:
- 535.xx (535.146.02)
- 530.xx (530.41.03) NFB
- 525.xx (525.125.06)
- 520.xx (520.56.06)
- 515.xx (515.105.01)
- 510.xx (510.108.03)
- 470.xx (470.199.02)
- 435.xx (435.21) Patched
- 418.xx (418.113) Patched
- 390.xx (390.157)
- 340.xx (340.138) Patched
This guide works with NVIDIA GeForce 6/7/8/9/200/300/400/500/600/700/800/900/10/20/30 series cards.
This method allow you easily install / test / use different versions of NVIDIA drivers, you can test BETA drivers and switch back to stable.
I have tested this guide with NVIDIA 340.xx (patched), 390.xx, 418.xx (patched), 435.xx (patched), 440.xx, 450.xx, 460.xx, 465.xx, 470.xx, 495.xx, 510.xx, 515.xx, 520.xx, 525.xx, 530.xx, 535.xx drivers/cards on latest Fedora. Here I use 465.31 NFB (New Feature Branch) version of NVIDIA drivers installer, you can always select latest stable version, beta version or some other version.
