Welcome to the thirteenth episode of season 2 of The Sci Guys. In this episode we will be mixing hydrogen peroxide and yeast, to produce a hot foam known as elephant toothpaste. We will show you how a catalyst can accelerate the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide to make elephant toothpaste. At the end of this video you will be able to demonstrate with an experiment how to make elephant toothpaste and how adding a catalyst to a chemical reaction can accelerate the reaction.
